Jay Sanchez’s first foray into the rug business was in the early 1980s. His introduction into the business was accidental, but felt it resonated deeply within him. It assuredly helped that he sold a rug on his first day! He later worked for Jacqueline Vance, who helped to hone his knowledge and sharpen his aesthetic senses. Janelle Eddlestone and Jay, who hails from San Antonio, Texas, met during those earlier years working for Vance, and they quickly sensed that they would make an excellent team.

Janel Eddlestone takes pride in her ability to sense the essence of her clients’ aesthetic tastes. Janelle was born and raised in New Orleans, went to work for Jacqueline Vance in 1991, and served for 11 years under her tutelage, gaining an in-depth appreciation and knowledge of fine rugs.

Together, Jay and Janel have over 30 years of combined experience in the fine rug industry. Their complementary styles and technical knowledge, when paired with a keen eye for quality and style, have positioned New Orleans Fine Rugs as the leading edge provider of fine and artistic rug offerings in Southeast Louisiana.

Both proprietors agree that they will not pursue a volume-driven, bottom-line approach to their thriving business, but will continue to focus on their many repeat customers, designers, and a discriminating clientele who appreciate the art of rugmaking.
